Welcome to Rick Signs & Repairs ("Rick Signs," "we," "us," or "our"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of ricksigns.com (the "Website") and any sign repair, commercial lighting, or installation services you engage from us. By using the Website or hiring us, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Website or engage our services.

1. Use of the Website

You may use our Website for personal or business reasons related to learning about, requesting, or coordinating sign and lighting services. You agree not to use the Website to:

  • Submit false, misleading, or harassing information
  • Interfere with the Website's operation or security
  • Scrape, copy, or republish our content without permission
  • Send automated requests or spam through our forms

We may restrict or terminate access if these Terms are violated.

2. Service Estimates and Quotes

Phone, email, photo, and form-based diagnostics are best-effort. Every sign and lighting issue is different, and remote diagnosis has limits. The flat-rate quote we provide is based on the information available at that time. If we arrive on site and discover the actual issue is materially different or more involved than what was described, we will stop work before incurring additional cost, explain what we found, and provide a revised quote and a path forward. You will never be charged for work you did not approve.

3. On-Site Service and Property Access

Sign repair and commercial lighting work happens at your site. By scheduling service, you (or the building owner, property manager, or authorized agent dispatching us) confirm that:

  • You have the legal authority to authorize access to the site and the sign or fixture in question
  • The site is reasonably accessible for our equipment, including a bucket truck where required
  • Any building rules, permits, after-hours arrangements, or insurance documentation needed will be communicated to us in advance

We bring our own equipment and operate under our own general liability and workers' compensation coverage. If your property or platform requires our insurance certificates, contact us and we will provide them. We are not responsible for delays caused by site access issues beyond our control (locked gates, unannounced building rules, conflicting tenant requirements, etc.).

4. Photos of Completed Work

By engaging us for sign or lighting work, you agree that we may take and use photos and short videos of the completed work in our portfolio, on social media, in case studies, and in marketing materials, unless you tell us in writing before the job is documented that you would prefer otherwise. We will not photograph faces, sensitive operations, or anything you specifically ask us not to. If you would rather your project not appear publicly, just say so — no questions asked.

5. Payments and Invoicing

Quoted prices are valid for 30 days unless we agree otherwise in writing. Payment terms are net 15 from invoice date unless otherwise arranged. Late payments may incur reasonable interest as permitted by Illinois law. Disputed invoices should be raised within 10 business days of receipt so we can resolve them quickly. Payment is accepted by check, ACH, or through a third-party payment processor such as Stripe. We do not store credit card information ourselves.

6. Vendor Platform Engagements

When you dispatch us through Service Channel, VendorPM, Corrigo, or a similar facilities-management platform, your platform's terms of use and our agreement with that platform govern the work order, in addition to these Terms. If there is a direct conflict between platform terms and these Terms with respect to the work you have dispatched, the platform terms control for the platform-specific aspects (dispatch, check-in, invoicing on the platform). These Terms otherwise apply.

7. Intellectual Property

The content on ricksigns.com — including text, photos, videos, logos, brand marks, and the overall design — is owned by Rick Signs & Repairs (or used with permission) and protected by U.S. copyright and trademark law. You may share links to our pages and view content for personal or evaluation purposes, but you may not copy, republish, or otherwise reuse our content without our written permission.

8. Third-Party Services and Links

Our Website may link to third-party websites, services, and platforms — vendor platforms, supplier product pages, client websites, embedded video providers (Vimeo, YouTube), payment processors (Stripe), form hosts (JotForm), and so on. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or practices.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

We stand behind our workmanship. For work we perform, we offer a labor warranty as discussed at the time of the quote (typically 90 days, longer for some installations). Parts are covered by the manufacturer's warranty.

Beyond that, the Website and the information on it are provided as is without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We make no guarantees that the Website will be uninterrupted, error-free, or perfectly accurate at every moment. Outdoor signs and lighting are exposed to weather, electrical events, vandalism, and other factors outside our control — we do not warrant against future failures that result from these factors.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Illinois law, Rick Signs & Repairs and its owners, employees, and contractors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Website or our services — including lost profits, lost business, or loss of data. For direct damages, our total liability for any single project is limited to the amount you paid us for that project. This Section does not apply to liabilities that cannot lawfully be limited (gross negligence, willful misconduct, or similar).

11. Indemnification

You agree to defend and indemnify Rick Signs from claims arising out of (a) your breach of these Terms, (b) your misuse of the Website, or (c) your provision of inaccurate information about site access, authority, or insurance requirements that results in third-party claims against us.

12. Trademarks

Rick Signs & Repairs displays third-party brand names, logos, and trademarks — including but not limited to Panda Express®, O'Reilly Auto Parts®, 7-Eleven®, and AutoZone® — solely to identify the businesses for whom we have provided sign repair, installation, or commercial lighting services. All such marks are the property of their respective owners. Rick Signs & Repairs is an independent service provider and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any of these brands, and references to their marks do not imply any partnership, agency, or sponsorship relationship.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute relating to these Terms or our services will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Cook County, Illinois, and you and we consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will change the Last Updated date at the top of this page. Material changes will be communicated more directly when appropriate. Continued use of the Website or continued engagement with our services after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
